Animecast: Winter 2014 Review Part 3

winter2014p3hdr

We’re reaching the end of our Winter 2014 Review list as we continue forward into some more touchy titles of the list.  Not only do we thoroughly bash a few dissatisfactory series that hit during the cold season, but we also debate how much a series should be discredited for not fleshing out certain characters.  It’s a heated discussion so don’t hesitate to chime in!

Anime reviewed in this episode: Wizard Barristers, Pupa, Log Horizon, Noragami, Nobunagun, Magical Warfare, and Hozuki no Reitetsu.

Our intro this episode was a silly song in episode 8 of Hozuki no Reitetsu called “Caramel Peach Jam 120%” by Hell Child. The outro is the ED for Wizard Barristers called “Blue Topaz” by Rui Tanabe.

We hope you all enjoy!

Serara was the druid that is attached to Nyanta. It was the Loli trifecta. Akatsuki, Minori, and Serara

Now onto Noragami. WTF WOLF, where is your otaku soul j/k. Really surprised that the show seemed to fall flat for you on such a small issue cause you to not enjoy a great show. Well, to each their own. Sure the main plot device that that allows for Hyiori to become aware of Yato goes unanswered but was not completely ignored just seemed like he did not have the answers to solve the issue at first and when told to separate himself from her in hopes that she will return back to her normal life but is attached to her and does not want to let her go. Going as far as creating a sketch book showing their memories with her. Protecting her from Nora and Rabo even if it meant his own life. Maybe he likes her cause she sees him for what he is now, and not his past.

No mistake about it this show is about Yato, the reason a big section was giving to Yukine was because they wanted to develop Yatos regalia. Hiyori had to be done in this fashion in order to have contact with the gold realm. Nora a regalia from the past that he hopes to forget. All other characters had contact with Yato not the others. There is a reason you leave some of these unanswered in a short time. So you can do service to other stories as in the case with Yukine.

Well thanks for the great podcast. Ever think of doing a Spoiler podcast?

kk easy question taken care of

Neowned dont hate on me. ;-p honestly i was constantly saying through the whole conversation i thought it was a great show. just did not feel compleate. i dont mind setting up for multi seasons but a show like this where there is not a guarenteed continuation just irks me. its one of my few peeves. i can forgive a show alot of things but to me that is a huge problem for me. i bashed arpeggio for it. if you heard my review of it i praised it for alot of things. its its kind of like giving me an epic burger then snatching it up from me in the middle of eating it.

also i have seen shows pull it off where they close it out in a natural arc to me this show just didnt meet that conclusion for me. although i will concede that without looking at the sorce material the show team felt that that was the best place to conclude.

well i hope i made sense in that garble of thoughts.

as always thanks for the comments
