Dating sims and mixers take the spotlight in this week’s episode of Monthly Girl’s Nozaki-kun. Who would have thought a shoujo manga artist could have so much trouble with them. Though I guess the reasons are not so far fetch when you consider the mindset of Nozaki.

Watching Mikoto get terribly conflicted while playing a dating sim called Girls Princess, Nozaki is forced into giving it a shot. Seems Mikoto feels that playing the games will better his ability to talk to girls, but it only seems to frustrate him as he deals with the terribly obvious tropes involved with them.

As Nozaki gives it a shot, he quickly finds himself shutting down every girl, figuring his heart is only for one girl, thus meshing his character with his manga. However after giving it yet anther try, both Nozaki and Mikoto realize one thing. The protagonist’s friend within the game sacrifices so much for him.

Being inexperienced in this type of event, he turns to the only person he can on the matter, Nozaki. Though it’s quickly obvious that Nozaki is not helping much, and the soon arriving Sakura isn’t much help either.

Thoughts
My goodness that whole dating sim segment was hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing. I had seen some manga clips of the specific part on the friend, but it didn’t stop me from hurting my side with some great laughs. The yandere, the tsundere, everything was so typical but just so funny.

Admittedly, besides the odd bathroom meets, the second segment involving the mixer training wasn’t too funny, but I still enjoyed it a bit. But I don’t hold it against the episode too much as the first part was a must watch.
