Episode 1 Impressions: BONJOUR Sweet Love Patisserie

Three dashing young instructors and a rebellious looking boy.  What girl wouldn’t be sold on the Fleurir Confectionery School?  Well, not Haruno Sayuri as she’s determined to study hard for the year and become a patissier!

e1bonjoursweetlove2Synopsis
Sayuri begins her first day at the Fleurir Confectionery School.  Thankfully she immediately befriends a girl named Mochizuki Ran and quickly get on first name terms.  While things seem great for her first impressions, she’s met by a group of girls led by Sannomiya Tsubaki.

Seems Sayuri is already known as being the girl who received a full scholarship to the school.  Being a very prestige school and expensive, she’s quickly looked down upon by these girls.  Though while they bicker at her, a boy named Kouzuki Ryou calls them out for blocking the hallway with their grumbling.

Hearing this outburst, the Head Teacher Minagawa Nadeshiko exits her room to scold all of the students.  Seems she’s known for her very strict nature.

e1bonjoursweetlove5As the students meet for their entrance ceremony, Sayuri comes to learn of an important rule at the academy.  Having relationships with the instructors is forbidden.  Which is a hard thing to ask of the girls of this school as each of the three instructors are dashing and handsome.

Sayuri doesn’t let this phase her though as she’s quite determined to make her family proud and become a patissier.

Thoughts
Another show that there’s not much to say about as it’s both a short and an introduction episode. I will say that the visual design is quite pleasing to the eyes, giving off a frilly and cute look to the character designs.

e1bonjoursweetlove7The show is also obviously a shoujo type show that will probably only be appealing to the female crowd, but even still I’m hoping that the unusual subject matter for the female protagonist to focus on may perhaps lead to some entertainment to any viewer. While we’ve had cooking anime, nothing really goes in the line of pastries.

There’s also a bit of drama surrounding her admission with a scholarship, but I’m not sure just how much they will explore that. I’ll be giving it a few more watches, so stay tuned.
