Episode 2 Impressions: Celestial Method

While the saucer remains a mystery as it floats about the town, in this installment of Celestial Method we manage to get a bit of insight into the effects that it has on the residence of the small lake-side town.

e2celestialmethod7Synopsis
Despite school in Tokyo starting later in the year, it seems Nonoka’s father decided to notify her on the morning of her first day of school. On the way, she bumps into Noel who oddly doesn’t seem to attend school and is a bit bummed that she’ll have to wait until later to hang out.

While her first day of school seems to go without a hitch, things turn chaotic when a classmate named Mizusaka Yuzuki takes Nonoka’s hand and hauls her away. Turns out this girl is quite passionate about getting rid of the Saucer that she claims is ruining her town.

Thoughts
e2celestialmethod8While Celestial Method continues to deliver on the cute, sugary, and beauty that this show can offer, it managed to show a little more depth to the setting this time around.

From the perspective of Yuzuki, we got a glimpse of how the saucer is actually effecting the town. Or probably better put, the changes that the town has had to face in wake of the saucer’s arrival. The prohibited island, the lack of firework shooting, and just how people have gotten used to it.

With the obvious element of Noel being a part of the ship, this also leads to how this will effect relationships as Nonoka has joined Yuzuki’s efforts. It’s going to be quite a tearful ride and I can already see certain things being put into play.
