Hak seems to be dead set on his plans to leave the Wind Clan in order to protect them, leaving Yona to live in disguise and protection. However as the truth of the Fire Clan’s actions weigh on Yona, there must be more she can do.

e5yonaofthedawn07Synopsis
As Hak prepares to leave, the clan manages to get Tae-yeon his medication that leads to him recovering. Though the torment for Yona doesn’t end as she soon walks in on the building they have been using to help the injured merchants from the Fire Clan’s harassment.

This leads Yona to seek out Hak who is about to leave. Though he claims that he’s no longer her guard, but a simple man for hire. After Yona gives him some firm talk and a simple but effective plea for him, he submits.

While it doesn’t seem like they have much of a plan going forward, Mun-deok shows up to give them e5yonaofthedawn06a possible direction. A priest that could shine a light on what exactly they should do going forward.

Thoughts
Well, Hak sure does seem a bit more confidant than usual. While humorous, he made quite a few moves on Yona that would normally get him scolded. That said, they were all quite welcome and gave me a good chuckle. Especially when most of it is lost in Yona’s clueless or determined nature.

My favorite moment of the episode was by far the final moments. Seeing Yona’s burning passion step out from the shadows and completely terrify her enemy was priceless. It has me more and more e5yonaofthedawn09excited for the later parts of this series.

About the only point in this episode that felt off-putting was a few comedic spouts that occurred in the midst of a battle.  Hak just gets done slicing a few people with his huge weapon, only to get in a silly conversation with their leader.

After flipping through screen captures, a thought occurred to me as to the identity of the shield bearing boy who protects Yona in the future. Tae-yeon has a similar style, eye color, and hair as him. So I’m beginning to think that a bit of time will pass before we get to that point and the shield carrying boy will be an older Tae-yeon. Which is great!
