Hello

Postby Savory Inventor » Tue Apr 10, 2018 1:11 am

Hello Otaku Spirit community. I am a 22 year old male. Been listening to the podcast for 11 months. Started with the episode "Saber Gacha Will Ruin Me" and have been listening ever since. Been a fan of anime for 15 years but had a falling out a few years ago when i moved location. Currently learning about electronics as a hobby in order to fix things and learn how they work.

I hope Otaku Spirit Podcast continues on into the far future, its been enjoying to listen to Chris and Andrews opinion on anime.

To the person who fixed the registration captcha. Thank you for fixing it so quickly.
Looking forward to this season.

Hello Kocurek1944
Here are you answers
Do You have any interest in pre-2000 anime?
I do enjoy pre-2000 anime, but not as much as i could have. The furthest back that i've watched would be the original macross (1982). I have older shows on my to watch list such as Aim for the Ace! & Devilman but have yet to get around to it.

Opinion on mecha genre?
mecha is my favourite genre

What gotten You into anime?
Can't really remember but it was probably during my time living in Malaysia that i stubbled onto an ad for Animax Asia channel, me being young at the time was like ya more cartoon. I would like to add i'm also grew up watching older baby boomer cartoon such as Atom Ant, The Flintstones, Popeye.... etc

What do You think is the most appealing aspect of Japanese Animation?
Its range, you can find some incredibly silly to very serious shows. There's something for everyone

Top 5 favourite anime characters?
Top 5 no particular order
Holo - Spice & Wolf
Nekki, Basara - Marcoss 7 (Best Macross)
Juuzou Okita - Space Battleship Yamato 2199
Keima - World God Only Knows
Sister - Arakawa Under the Bridge

Yoho there,

Feel greeted to the ragtag bunch that is our forum community. It's great that Andrew and Chris can keep motivating people to join our ranks :). I hope you'll find some like-minded fellows to discuss and gush about one of your favorite pastimes with. Looks like you're already set to join the mecha alliance with Kocurek ;). Myself, I've never cared for mecha or action-heavy shows. However...

Keima - World God Only Knows
I commend you for your exquisite taste, sir 8-). I'm all about romance and drama in anime (and some comedy never hurts). These two series are among my favorites, and I particularly like Keima as a rather unconventional protagonist. Are there any drama or romance animes which you're especially fond of?

Also, I will pitch you - our newest member - a completely random question in keeping with my tradition on this forum: Is there any one scene in anime you will always remember because it taught you something valuable?

Lastly, a personal appeal: If you feel so inclined, check out the forum game linked in my signature. It's been dead for a while, but perhaps there's a chance to revive it if you're interested. I've always enjoyed it a lot (and yeah, I'm also the one who created it :D).

Welcome inventor.

I’m so sorry I missed you I blame the new season spam. Viewing posts by unread is probably a bad habit but it can be easy.

I hope you find lots of new friends here and have lots of fun.

As for a random question.
Who owns a character the fandom or the original creator? ( thought provoking harder optional question )

If you pass on the above question
Who is best cabbit ( inconsiquintial easy question )

Welcome again.

;-)

Hello Chris
Thanks to you and Andrew for the podcast and for welcoming me to the community.

As for a random question.
Who owns a character the fandom or the original creator?

Not 100% on how to answer but i'd say it belong to its creator. Its the creator who puts thought and heart into the character. He or She set the motivation, goals and desires of a character. It is through their will/writing and or wish fulfillment how the characters will turn out.Sure fans can make some say in the characters development but in the end its the creator that has the say on His/Hers characters development.

If you pass on the above question
Who is best cabbit

Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyo

Again Thank you and Andrew for the podcast
