I may be wrong but I think that bear was CG. I'm digging this story though. I love the setup.

The bear, yeah. Retar looks to be CG some of the time and seems more successful.
Story-wise I'm really enjoying it, pretty brutal, though.

I've never read the manga for this but the anime gives me vibes of an adaptation that isn't living up to its source material... There are nice things going on here that doesn't come up with anime these days so a lot of it is more than welcomed. I feel like there's things missing, though, and the pacing is sorta off, and the production value is awfully low.
