Basically. I feel he thinks he's a better writer than he is. (Completely subjective of course some people think he's amazing) to me alot of his works come out preachy or over thought.

Thanks for your concern Neko. Ironically I will be in USA just after this run ends. But probably no means in which to watch it anyway.

I'll be following along. =D I haven't seen anything by Ikuhara before so dunno if I'll get it or enjoy it but I'm deff readying to give it a shot. ^^ Penguindrum has been on my list for quite some time~ ::peace::

I'm in to watch this. Penguindrum has been on my list for a while now and I liked Yuri Kuma Arashi. I always like watching shows with more artistic flair and Ikuhara sure has a lot of that.

Episode 1 and 2

This looks like it could go one of two ways. It could be repetative and boring, or it could be fun and creative. Knowing Ikuhara I'm sure it's gonna be a mix of both. That said, I enjoyed the first two episodes. The show looks decent and the animation is fine, so let's just see how the story holds up.
