Time for an off the wall Question

Your house is burning and you only have time to get everything you can carry with two hands in one trip before it all burns down. What will you save? I will allow a fire drill and prior planning between you two and anyone else that lives with you before you answer.
-You can only use those who live with you or visit you at least once a week
-You can only take what you can carry in your arms. You may not use bags, sheets, carts, or anything that may be used to carry anything in
-The amount must be only what you can only realistically carry. Too many of anything that would cause them to fall and force you to pick up is disqualified. You cannot take more in weight than what you can physically carry.
-Only 1 trip is allowed. You cannot take multiple trips. All that is left behind will be burned and destroyed

After seeing Wotaku, it got me thinking. I live very rural, and although I can get my husband to watch some anime (he is a Ghibli fan), overall he isn't very interested in anime. I have no IRL friends that are into anime either. My connections to other people over anime are solely online.
So my questions for you guys, before this podcast, how did you connect with other anime fans offline? Besides each other, did you have friends and family also into anime that you could discuss with in person? Also, how has your interactions with other anime fans IRL changed as you have developed and grown with your podcast? Besides the podcast and this website, what specific event really changed how you connect with others IRL over anime (like your first Convention experience or just coming upon an Anime centric store)? And was there ever a time in your life when you were ashamed of being an anime fan IRL?

A lot of questions there, but it would be great to get a lowdown on how your lives have revolved around anime and how it's changed in the real life space with all you've been able to accomplish.

Thinking back on western shows I've seen, I realized most shows would not make good anime. Shows like The Walking Dead for example would bomb terribly due to how slow it progresses whereas shows like The X-Files would make amazing anime adaptations with very interesting stories in each episodes with an overarching mystery that gets revealed little by little. So the question is, which western shows do you think would make great anime?

Knowing that we are all very busy adults with a pretty tight schedule with work, personal matters, and getting caught up on all the new shows, I know we don't have much time nowadays to go back and rewatch shows that we just love and want to revisit. My question is whether this applies to you and if so, what shows do you wish you actually had the time to go back and gush over? Personally I wish I had the time to go back and revisit Chobits and Love Hina since those two were my gateway to the flood of anime I now consume and want to go back to my roots but unfortunately I have way too much to catch up on, and have several older shows on the backburner that I need to get through (I'm desperately trying to watch the entire Pretty Cure franchise so I don't expect to have free time any time soon)

Here is one of the many questions I keep making on my blog and decided to actually port into this thread after reading angs from the community and realized you must answer for. Andrew, do you feel at all responsible for Isekai bubble we currently live with. Your constant prayers to the anime devil for more fantasy shows has created a constant flow of Isekai that many in the community are really sick of. How do you respond?

Here's a question you can have fun with. If the entirety of vocaloid, and yes I do mean all vocaloids including Yamaha (Azuki, Matcha, atc..) Internet Co., Ltd (Gumi, Gackpoid, Lily, atc..), Crypton Future Media (Miku, Luka, etc..) and all other like IA and Mayu, were to be turned into an anime, what kind of characters would each one have? Personally I see Gumi having a friendly, tomboyish attitude and Luka as an Onee-san type that thinks a little too much about things.
