I'm quite looking forward to the Fruits Basket reboot. A big portion of the dubbing community lost their Shinji when it was announced that Laura Bailey would reprise her role as Tohru. That's something nobody seriously expected, as she virtually hasn't done any anime roles for a couple of years now (She's moved on to more lucrative ventures). I'm more or less indifferent as I'm not a particularly great fan of hers (although her portrayal of Sana in Kodocha was mind-blowing).
As an aside, I'm pretty sure the original series had 2 cours.

Now, I don't mean to be a stickler (yeah right, Spark...), but I've been hearing this on a number of podcast episodes now: It's either Midori Days or Midori no Hibi. I'd appreciate it if you could make up your mind one way or the other instead of bastardizing both those poor titles :P.

I don't know who "Ikuhara" is, same as for 99% of directors/writers/artists/composers/who-have-you working in the industry. Never cared to dig that deep into the production side of animes. I'd much rather go into whatever I watch with as little knowledge / predefined expectations as possible. I know that doesn't really answer your question (which was more concerned with the target age group), just throwing in my 2 yen.

I'm from Japan is basically about a high school boy who fights other people with fighting styles based on the prefectures of Japan. I read the first two chapters back when it first came out back in September and didn't really like it. It's odd to me that this series is already getting an anime adaptation when it's only six months old.

I'm hoping that Ikuhara remembers to put an actual story this time since Yuri Kuma was symbolism for symbolism sake which is fine for a movie but not for a TV series.

Andrew, you could try to hide how bored you were during the Robohachi part.
