429) Best Anime of 2018 Deliberations Part 1

The 2018 Anime Year has come to a close and it’s time for the hosts of the Otaku Spirit Animecast to tackle the age old question of which is best. Join them in this 4 part series as they run through each genre, best of topics, seasonal picks, and finally the best of the year!

Please note: Deliberation episodes are intended to be nearly unfiltered and lightly edited. These were recorded over hours of deliberations and, while a bit of dead air was removed, it may have points of silence. This isn’t a reflection of our typical podcast episodes that are heavily edited for better listening experience.

Deliberations covered in this episode: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, and Drama.

The opening for this episode is the OP for Angolmois called “Braver” by Straightener. The closing for this episode is the ED for Megalobox called “Kakatte Koi yo” by NakamuraEmi.

We hope you all enjoy!

I'd legitimately never review something I've been badgered about. If you expect an unswayed review, at least.

Doesn't matter. The review is already done.

This should have been titled as "Preview for the Fall 2018 Reviews" since I'm curious on why you say the things about the Fall 2018 shows you do especially Merc Storia since it was one and drop for me.

Planet With is totally an action show. It seems to me that Andrew doesn't like CG action for some reason.

I hate to say this but Full Metal Panic Invisible Victory is the fourth season of Full Metal Panic. It counts Fumoffu as the second season not a spinoff. If you look at the title card, you noticed that Invisible Victory is shortened as IV which is the Roman numeral for four.

I think there shouldn't be an episode limit for shows that have multiple seasons to exclude them for the year like with Seven Deadly Sins. I get that you don't want shows like Black Clover or want to focus on new IPs (I rather want you guys used this as an excuse) but saying that shows with multiple seasons shouldn't count even though they qualify for the year because of past episode counts is wrong. You guys can easily judge the new season of a show as its separate thing without the past ones.
